C omfortable: the word that I hear most often when people describe Smith & Brown Funeral Home. My staff and I make it a priority to make your visit to the funeral home a comfortable one. Whether you are here for a scheduled appointment, visitation, funeral service or a drop in visit, you will almost always be greeted at the door. Most funeral homes are associated with sadness. As that is most certainly the case we believe that in the midst of sadness there can be comfort.
At Smith & Brown Funeral Home we offer a large chapel that is used for visitations and funeral or memorial services. We encourage families to use this large space to personalize and display items that will help tell the story of your loved one. Whether you choose to display pictures, fishing rods, horse blankets, potted flowers and plants, original artwork, racing helmets or the mounted buck that normally hangs in your family room (see photos), we will graciously accommodate your ideas.
We also offer your family the use of the private family lounge. This lounge is equipped with a sink, full size refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, tv/dvd player and toys for children. We feel that you and your family should have a private area to retreat to when you need that little bit of time to “get away” from the visitation. Whether you need to get a drink, a bite to eat or just sit quietly and think this is your private retreat.
Our funeral home is easily navigated if you use a wheelchair, walker, scooter or crutches. The entire building is one level and meets ADA standards.
As a guest at Smith & Brown Funeral Home it is our pleasure to serve you and meet your needs. Most people would rather not have to visit the funeral home, I understand that. However, when I hear that people feel comfortable here I know that my staff and I are making you our number one priority and that our facility is not intimidating.
